3/17/2024 – Pistol II Class
If you are serious about getting better at the shooting sports, I highly recommend the GLCSA 2 day, Pistol 2 course. You will learn things you never even thought of and add to things you thought you knew but really didn’t. It is comprehensive, and very intuitive once the light bulb goes off in your head. You can tell a lifetime of shooting lessons are being handed down in an extremely entertaining way. Of the three professional classes I have attended in my limited shooting experience, this one has had the most lasting impression.

3/17/2024 – Pistol II Class
For anyone thinking of taking a competitive shooting class, this is one not to miss. The class size is kept small 9 people or less, so you can be assured that you will get personal attention.
All of the lessons are broken down to small parts that really help show you where you can improve. This is not only the practical part of the game but also the mental part of the game. Speed, Accuracy, Movement, Setting up for the next move, and so much more. I will say that should GLC Shooting Academy come back (to CA) I will be taking the training again.
This is a fantastic class with a great group of people.

Hi again Gordon.
I can’t put into words how incredible your Gun 2 (Pistol II) class was. I was shown a better way to do just about everything (I know, still gotta learn it), and your presentation is very understandable. The handout binder just cements everything together. During about 125 hours of prior private and class instruction, no one has ever provided handouts. I also sincerely enjoyed meeting you and Randi. You are 2 of the nicest people I have ever shared time with. And I mean that. I felt like I was stuck in a poor performance rut in IDPA, but I am re-energized with all the new information, drills, etc. I can incorporate in the coming months and am confident I will improve.

May 8, 2023 – Pistol II
This was by far the most information filled and comprehensive shooting class I
have taken. I am re-energized to continue my competition career and now have the
foundation, tools, and framework to improve and achieve my goals. Incredible
job Gordon and Randi!

GLC SHOOTING ACADEMY GRADUATE SHOOTS AND WINS
A recent GLC Shooting Academy graduate is crediting his training for an impressive finish at the 2013 South Mountain Showdown IDPA Match in Phoenix Arizona November 2, 2013.
Shooting in his first major match since graduating from Pistol II July 28, Jerry D’Amico captured First Place in the Custom Defensive Pistol Expert Class and a close second overall out of 32 shooters in the CDP Division, a mere 4 points behind the division champion. D’Amico toppled 5 other Experts and 2 Masters and was the most accurate of all CDP shooters with just 31 points down.
Shooting for the Tactical Defense Solutions Performance Team and Personal Protection Consultants, D’Amico drove his Stephan Hutton built vintage Springfield GSP 1911 to CDP Division wins in 2 of the 8 stages, finishing a blazing 4th and 6th overall of the 108 competitors in those two stages. His 4th place overall finish on Stage 2 even topped USPSA national champion Nils Jonasson. D’Amico posted top five CDP division finishes in 5 of the 6 remaining stages and a 7th place finish in the 6th.
His score proves a CDP shooter can compete against other divisions as he topped 3 of the 5 ESP Masters, 4 of the 9 ESP Experts and all 8 SSP Experts. “A hit on a non- threat at 25 yards cost me a 5 point penalty and the division title, it was that close,” D’Amico admitted. “Gordon’s training helped me recover mentally and move to the next stage which was my best of the match,” D’Amico noted.
“I couldn’t have done it without the training I received from Gordon Carrell in July.” D’Amico insists. “I came out of the class with a completely new perspective on how to improve both my mechanical and mental skills.” D’Amico immediately started practicing, which he had never managed to do before, and practicing with purpose, efficiency and accountability. “In the weeks following the class I began closing the gap on and in most cases beating shooters in local matches I had never beaten before,” he states. “This was my first major match class win in 3 years after a disappointing string of second place finishes and I have never finished anywhere near that high in division.” D’Amico admits, “I am convinced it was Gordon’s training that made the difference!”
He is proud to point out that the shooter who topped him by only 4 points for the CDP Division title is the same shooter who beat him by more than 50 points in a major match just 3 years ago!
“Gordon’s training and guidance has given me the incentive and confidence to charge forward to even greater accomplishments, it’s a great feeling!” D’Amico states.
